Weekend Visitor

We doggy-sat for a friend of mine for a weekend. Our doggy visitor is named Adele, and she is a Husky/Lab mix. Overall we had a good weekend, but it did wear poor little Ada (GSD) out having a pup in her home.

Baby Pool Dogs

Ada was happy to share her pool, and the tennis balls – but Ada does have her own “special” toy that seemed to have disappeared during the weekend. Once my friend came over to pick up Adele, Ada watched as Adele jumped into the car, and as soon has the car was out of sight…Ada ran to the grill, dug from underneath, and out came her favorite toy! It must have been so stressful for her to go the whole weekend without!

Ada and Toy

This is Ada pictured with her favorite toy. It is made by Kong, and we usually buy 2-4 at a time and stock pile them.

Happy GSD

She threw it for me! Makes me so happy!

GSD caught sleeping on the job!

It is on rare occasion I am able to sneak up on the German Shepherd (or the Nova Scotia Duck Toller for that matter!) Most likely because they are always looking forward to coming inside from the back yard when someone gets home…just to turn around and go to the front yard and play (mostly Ada the GSD, Chloe the Nova Scotia Duck Toller would prefer to always be inside.)

Snoozing GSD

However, I got them! It was to my surprise that I even made it out the door without them noticing, much less able to capture it in pictures, well, ONE picture, and then…

GSD: "Oh, hey there!"

Yeah, I did not have much time before I was noticed. It was adorable though because she was still half asleep trying to come to me, and she wobbled a bit before she got herself straight.

Need help with training your German Shepherd? Aringsburg Kennel has a great blog for that.

I'm Waiting for You

German Shepherd at the Door

Ada’s human “daddy” had just gotten up for his “day” (he works night shift) and she was able to say hello to him…but then he needed to jump in the shower. Apparently, she did not feel like she had sufficient time with him because she sat and waited the entire time he was in the bathroom. You could tell where he was in the bathroom because that would be the direction she would turn.
